Kyampisi Childcare Ministries

Give Kids Your Instruments is conducting on-the-ground research and producing a documentary film with Tactical Aesthetics on children in crisis around the world.

We are developing transformative art therapy programs for displaced people emerging from conflict. In 2022, we focused on refugees residing in settlements in northern Uganda, as well as child sacrifice survivors at a rehabilitation center in Kyampsis, an hour outside of Kampala.

The Uganda Project involved a deep dive into experimental trauma-informed art therapy sessions. These clinical interventions were conducted for research, analysis, and program development. All clinical trials were done in collaboration with local, embedded community organizers.

Uganda is considered the youngest country in the world with 50% of the population under the age of 15 years. For this reason, Uganda seemed to be a good place to work with underserved children.

Child Sacrifice is a modern problem in Uganda. The survivors of child sacrifice are the most resilient children I have ever met and this has much to do with the team at Kyampisi Childcare Ministries.
